Ken Lyons is the Senior Editor for Photography and Multimedia at The Denver Post. His work in news, features, sports and special projects photo editing has been recognized by Pictures of the Year International (POYi) and the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism competition. Known for his collaborative nature throughout the newsroom, Ken works to ensure each project is told with strong, storytelling images both online and in print.
A Pulitzer Prize winning editor, Ken is known throughout the journalism community as a coach and mentor. He has served as a faculty member for the Kalish Picture Editing Workshop and team leader and organizer for the Truth with a Camera workshop. He served as a judge for Pictures of the Year International (POYi). He directed the staff of the Orlando Sentinel to multiple state, national and international awards. Since arriving in Denver, the Post has received multiple national awards for picture editing, photojournalism and multimedia. The staff won the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Aurora Theater shooting.
